Stainless steel pipes commonly Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers hardness of three indicators to measure its degree of hardness.
Brinell hardness
In standard of stainless steel pipe, Brinell hardness is most widely used, often expressed as diameter of indentation hardness of the material, is intuitive, and easy. But for a harder or a thin steel pipe does not apply.
Rockwell hardness
Guan Luo’s stainless steel like hardness test with Brinell hardness test, is a test method for indentation. Different is that it is to measure the depth of the indentation. Rockwell hardness test is currently a widely used method of HRC in the steel used in standard second only to the Brinell hardness HB. Rockwell hardness can be applied to determination of metal from very soft to very hard, it makes up for the Brinell method is not, than the Brinell method is simple, direct from the dial read hardness values of hardness. However, due to its small indentation, hardness Brinell method than accurate.
Vickers hardness

Stainless steel Guan Wei’s test is a test method for indentation hardness, can be used for determination of thin metal layers and surface hardness. It has a method of Brinell, Rockwell’s main advantages, overcome their shortcomings, but as the Rockwell method is simple, Vickers method rarely used in steel standard.
Hardness testing
Stainless steel pipe inner diameter of the 6.0mm above, annealed stainless steel tubing of the wall thickness in the following 13mm, W-B75-Webster hardness tester can be used, which test is very quick, simple, suitable for qualified and fast non-destructive inspection of stainless steel tube. Stainless steel tube diameter is larger than 30mm, stainless steel tube wall thickness is greater than 1.2mm, Rockwell hardness tester, HRB, HRC hardness testing. Stainless steel tube diameter is larger than 30mm, stainless steel tube wall thickness is less than 1.2mm, superficial Rockwell hardness tester, test HRT or hardness of the HRN. Inside diameter is less than 0mm, larger than 4.8mm stainless steel pipe, pipe-specific Rockwell hardness tester, hardness of the test HR15T.

When stainless steel tube diameter is greater than 26mm, you can also use Rockwell and Rockwell superficial hardness testers test the hardness of the inner wall of the pipe.
